Undesired

The sulfur bacteria can make your water smell like rotten eggs.

Iron bacteria will usually cause yellow, orange, red, or brown stains and colored water. They may also sometimes cause a rainbow colored, oil-like sheen on the water.

I called a water testing place this morning. I would have to go pick up the container, etc., collect a sample and return it to them. It costs $35.00. It might be a good idea to do that, although based on the comments above, there shouldn't be a problem.

They said the annual shocking in the spring is a recommendation by the NYS Health Dept.
