Don't know much about dust, but it's interesting to read about concerns of starvation and high food costs if current practices cannot be continued.
First, far from starvation, there is an obesity epidemic in America, resulting in several life-threatening diseases like diabetes. The lifespan of the next generation will be shorter than the previous. I say bring on some starvation! That would motivate more people to grow their own food, resulting in exercise, which is also good.
As for the price of food, how many billions of dollars of government money is spent each year to keep food prices low? Ironic we spend money to save money.
I assume all those who are anti-government are also against government subsidies which result from forcibly taking money from the citizens - money they could use to buy food.
I also get the feeling that farmers often despise the people who buy their food. The city folk are supposed to tolerate smelly feedlots, dusty air, etc. Or they shouldn't keep reproducing and encroaching on farmland (high-rise apartments better?). I recall when video was released of workers mistreating downer cattle, on a cattle forum the prevailing opinion was that city folks just don't get it - that is the only way you could handle those cows. The city folks are just supposed to understand what it takes.
