Coscos or Sam's Club still offer fairly good pricing to paid members, such stores are still not considered real wholesale outlets because they are open to the public. You won't find many retailers buying through these clubs.

Real wholesalers will not charge a membership fee and since they do not sell to consumers, there can not be any retail mark-up of goods. In fact many of these stores and price clubs who may make you believe they are offering wholesale prices actually purchase their goods from real wholesalers. Where should you be shopping?

Ruling forces Sam's to drop 'Wholesale' name - Sam's Wholesale Clubs

suburbanhermett, that doesn't sound like any Costco I've ever been in. Obviously I haven't visited them all, but I've seen them in California, Virginia and in the midwest. I've never even seen an itty-bitty jar of any spice (or anything else for that matter). If you had to pay an annual membership to shop at such a place, you should be complaining loudly to the national management. Every store I've visited has 25# bags of beans, 50# bags of flour, pints of vanilla, spices in 14-16oz jars etc. Can't say I've ever seen pepperoni, though it would probably be in an 18" log if they did carry it.

we only have Sams

I keep a price list on things we buy. We have Save A Lot, King Soopers (Kroger), Safeway, Walmart & Sams and I really keep track of prices. I only buy what is a better deal at Sams. There are probably only a couple dozen or so items that are better deals.
