Okay...I love Sedona; I've spent tons of time there but I wouldn't exactly call it a city-city. If it were a city it would be SAD.

A previous poster reminded me: I love New Orleans too. And Dublin.

Well Savannah here too. In fact we like it so much we have our house up on the market, and if things ever turn around we will be moving to Savannah.

We will be there the first of Dec to visit.

I'm not into cities at all, or towns either for that matter. Still, if I had to pick one that I've accidently ended up in , I would say Victoria, British Columbia. On beautiful Vancouver Island, on the water and I can get my fix of British goodies.

Well a lot of folks like Seattle, it seems...

I like Seattle also, and have many friends living on either side of Puget Sound and on some islands in the area.... For me it is the jumping off point for Vancouver, BC and Vancouver Island/ Victoria, BC - then of course the AlCan Highway to Alaska.

Of course in the other direction is Tucson, Arizona. Went there many times, when I was in the Marine Corps stationed in the desert (TDY'ed @ Yuma, Arizona N.A.S.). I enjoy the several Air Force museums in the area - even a decomissioned ICBM missile silo museum. It's vicinity to Mexico (about 1 hour drive), and my brother lives there. Now I visit only during the winter time, since I don't like the 110+ degrees temps in the summertime!!!

Brisbane, Australia is my favorite. Great public transportation. Climate of Southern Cal. The place reminds me of Southern Cal in the fifties.

.................My favorite small town , is one where there is one blinking red light that is the confluence of two , two lane state highways leading off into the hills no matter which direction you go . On one of these roads there will will be a couple of blocks of old , red brick buildings that represented the retail business community of said small town . Through the years some have remained uninhabited until a couple with no special destination in mind , stopped at the red light , perused the empty edifices , fell in love with the community , purchased a building and began a labor of love to rebuild their lives and become part of the whole . These are "my" favorite places and they exist all over this land , just waiting too be discovered . , fordy

No contest, San Francisco.

You can have LA, New York, and Chicago. I've spent too much time in all three to find romance in those cities. Sedona & Santa Fe are interesting places to visit, but there are too many phoneys that ruin it for everyone else. I had a girfriend in Sedona at one time, and the phoneys really began to get to me.

That's for sure. We lived in the valley for 10 years but spent one summer in Sedona during a "harmonic convergence". Yikes....lot's of crystal wearers and cairn builders.

Aan Antionio Texas is the beat town that I have been in for touristy stuff. The Alimo, The river walk, Musems, and alot more. I went there and toured the brewerys and the Buckhorn Hall of Fame the same place as the Lone Star Brewery.

I loved Moscow, Russia when I lived there. Not so much for the sights, but for the people. For sights, Amsterdam or Munich.

Louisville, Ky.
Ha!
I grew up in Louisville....I go back every year to visit.
But since I have been living small town for last 23 years....I can only take Louisville in short time spans.
If you like the party...it is certainly the place to be!

Favorites would Be Savannah, GA for it's history and beauty.......and Henderson(ville?) NC.
Mountains...not such a tourist trap...just beautiful!

I also enjoy visiting the Cherokee Reservation next to the Smoky Mountains.

I camped out there two years ago for the Cherokee Survivors Rally.
Awesome!

Whidbey Island has a few small towns, and they are all favorites, as well as Anacortez WA. Just love the atmosphere, friendly people, and scenery.
