We raise hogs - feed non GMO Milo, no growth hormones, antibiotic free, etc, etc, etc. They are pastured, then processed at a terrific USDA plant. We market in larger cities and do quite well - we get about $4/lb processed weight when we sell in bulk (ie - whole or half hog).

When selling individual cuts, we sell anywhere from $4 - $7 per pound, processed, depending on the item. Marketing makes a huge, huge difference - you really need to know what people want, and WHY you raise them like that, market it, and you can do quite well. We have a lot of repeat business, a lot of new business too.

Sorry missed that. I take vac packed cuts and a legal for trade scale (pre-priced would work too) displayed in aglass topped freezer. I do sell sides and whole lamb too. Heck I've even sold live lambs through contacts at the market for pets breeding stock and companion animals for horses.
