Use By Date for Venison?

It's not the law to consume your venison within a certain date, but it will be when Obama gets in office.

Seriously tho, you do have to date your packaged game meat and have it consumed by a certain date in some states. I found this out when I was looking up on the internet on how to can squirrels. On one of the websites I found stated I had to write the expiration date on it to abide by the local game laws. After futher research I found out you really do in some states.

It also existed in Wisconsin in years past. Also applied to certain other wild game. I can't recall when it was eliminated but I believe that it was still in effect into the 1980s.

Theirs a reason they didn't even need a freezer, want to guess what that reason was? Give up. Them animals won't hanging around long enough back then either, Cause they were hongry.
