27 years.

We are best friends.

I have no idea though of how to predict if a marriage will work or not.

We have talked about divorce many times.

Neither of us are happy with this, but neither of us wants to be divorced.

So each year creeps by.

I am very frustrated with life, I would give up marriage in a second for a physical relationship with a female.

It is good to have a best friend, but so many years of celibacy is killing me.

We've been married almost 44 years and it only seems like 5 minutes... under water. Seriously, putting the other person first and choosing to laugh a lot go a long way.

My first marriage ended after a year and three months. Basically, he had cheated on me twice and the second one he was going to move here from England and move in with her even if we didn't divorce. The second one I only knew 6 weeks before I married and he wound up being abusive to my daughter and mentally abusive to me and my son as well.
My husband now, I had known when I was 7 and he was 17, he was my brothers best friend. We got reacquainted in '98 and after our divorces (they were already in the process before we started talking) we were married in December. He had been through 2 previous marriages also where he was cheated on and abused.
How has ours worked? We determined from the get go that there would not be a divorce. I know what he will put up with and he knows what I will put up with.
We also believe that the Lord brought us together. He is my best friend, my soul mate and the most perfect lover I have ever known. God fit us together. There is no way anyone else would put up with either one of us.
I can't imagine my life without him.
