Some of ya'll need to cut back on the coffee, grow a thicker skin or watch a few episodes of The Honeymooners. Yea, that's what he was advocating, wholesale wife beatings. Sorry about the trees. Give a hug and a smooch and a shovel and let her help plant the new trees. The new tunnel will be a bit more romantic if ya'll plant them together.

Ah gotcha
So its ok to make jokes about child molesting, murder, rape, etc, because after all, people arent advocating it wholesale, right?

Really! Especially when you consider the number of times she looks at me, smirks, and says "I know what you're thinking". And she's right!
I did go out last night and trim up the mess. Which involved a bunch more trimming to get some symmetry and balance to everything. Stood back and looked at it all, and ah, well, it looked better than the almost finished tree tunnel I was making did. Shh! Keep that a secret!

yea, you've got it completely right. absolutely and completely correct. and, since we are taking everything so literally then I'll assume you are saying: "... its ok to make jokes about child molesting, murder, rape, etc,...". I'd suggest Sanka.

Well, they can't take all of the credit. Too many hopped onto the PC bandwagon, started teaching it in school at all levels, then it went mainstream. You end up with folks wound so tight they'll never get all of the kinks out. I think some of them need to sit on the back porch, pop a cold one and scratch the hound behind his ears. It seems to put the universe back in perspective. From here the trees don't look so bad.

Maybe if you were the one that lived in fear of being beaten, not knowing what would set it off, if ANYTHING set it off, if you lived every day in hell not knowing if he was going to kill you today or what.....
then it wouldnt be so FUNNY or a joking matter, WOULD it.
But by all means, tell people to have Sanka or a chill pill, that justifies it for you doesnt it.

Did she know the pruning plan you were working on? If yes, it was mean-spirited in her to undo it w/o talking about it with you. I had a wild apple I was pruning to shape in my side yard. I carefully marked in with green tape and the stuff to cut with orange. I did tell him, but he did really forget, and down came everything with a tape on it. Green for let-it-grow seemed easy enough. Another time maybe I'll try a no-trespassing sign. Sue

I knew a fellow that had spent 15 YEARS growing a Japanese Maple only to have a "gardener" prune it with the hedge. All he had left was a twig.
It nearly came to murder LOL
