Yes, but not necessary. The 'fragrance' of essential oils will dissipate and be almost non-detectable once the item is dry. I use essential oils mostly for their antiseptic action and NOT for fragrance. I just want my clothes to smell 'clean.'

thanks for posting the link i might try their soap. it sounds like it works really well. what does it smell like?

It has no fragrance, no dyes at all. If you've been using conventional detergent (like Tide) it will take about a month for all that excess soap to wash out of your clothes. Once it does, you won't need fabric softener if you line dry. It's too much soap that makes your clothes stiff.

ive been using soap nuts and i really like them. i always like to try new detergents though.
