The American Community Survey

My apologies for resurrecting this old thread, but it still current for us. Months ago we received multiple copies of the American Community Survey but every copy was shredded before going in the recycle bin. We have now received 2 phone calls regarding it; wanting to complete it over the phone since it is past the deadline. We've made it clear that we will not complete the survey and each caller was getting rather short with us, so we just hung up. Anyone know of the census takers following through with their "threat" to those that do not complete it?

Well, the exhortion accusation responce sounds like a good one to me.
The cursed Bureaucrat was really like a fly here, and kept circling and landing with his persistance for the survey. I was thrilled when the dog bit him through the gate-the creep, served him right.
No, I only answered a very few of his questions on his survey, perhaps 5% that were readily available through public records. All his other survey questions I refused to answer as they invaded my Right to pricacy.
Keep hanging up on them when they call.
My error was goofing, and leaving my driveway gate open on a short errand across the highway, which the fiend used to come into the property-past my No Tresspassing signs.
Keep your gates closed, and chained, is the best defence!

They won't do it. Can you imagine the press on that one??? They don't have the guts!

Well, they shot a 14 y/o in the back and then shot his mother holding her baby (Vickie Weaver) then they burned a bunch of people to death in Waco so yes, they do have the guts. Watch out if you see the HRT in your area. I've always wondered if the HRT have ever actually saved any hostages.

I received two of the long forms and thought 'no way am I answering all that".

Then I was away the two times the cencus person came by.
I did finally call her, and they really only needed about 6 questions answered that was pretty general - they were trying to figure out the traffic flow during going to work time. This area is growing a lot.
But it was so much less than that form, and I didn't have to answer some of the questions - they even told me I didn't need to answer them if it was info I didn't want to give out.

It might be okay to answer the phone calls and just give the info you wish, then they can leave you alone.

I've never even heard of any of this- where are they doing it, and are they doing it to people who farm, or...?

We just got the USDA one again.

Didn't answer last time but then received a 'mandatory' letter to be filled out. This one actually states it is voluntary but the letter tries to make it sound like it's mandatory.
Pesky...fill the survey out by hand or online and if we don't hear from you....we'll be calling. We are so tired of pesky phone calls so the only reply they will get is a recorded answering phone message. smile

They targeted us originally because of my membership in the BBSAI(Blackbelly sheep). Members names, address were listed online.
