Had this issue a few years ago. Legal, deeded access over another person's land.

Atty stated no speed bumps because the land owner could be sued if a car/truck became damaged.

Land owner placed strategic large rocks in a serpentine fashion to slow vehicles. Sheriff said illegal.

Mud bog worked for a day, until it dried up.

Court stated that the land owner could put up a gate that had to remain unlocked as there may be emergency vehicles needing access.

Now the "crazy woman" just glares & if you drive by, & lets her dogs out on you if you walk by. Can't wait until she's again taken to court over this one.

If it were me, I'd go to the county and have them pull the maps showing exactly where your property is so that you could speak with some authority about where it is you're granting access. Next, I'd express some concern to the parents of the girl, noting that you are concerned not just about your animals. By speeding along, there is a good chance that they will come up on an animal crossing the road and have an accident by either hitting or attempting to avoid hitting something. If they can't slow down you may need to take measures to make it difficult to drive at high speeds. Be as nice about it as you can. If talking to them personally doesn't help, I'd send a letter that is notarized at your bank. That just makes it seem more official. Also, you might put a sign warning that it is a farm animal crossing. You can paint it yourself. The other thing that this does is gives you a measure of proof in the event of an accident that you did make efforts to improve the safety along that road. Also, some lawyers will have a consultation with you for 15 minutes or so to let you know if there would be anything you could do legally. Go in with an outline of the issues and your concerns so that you can get right to the point. Good luck!
