windy, you had a great idea. i need to scald birds outsdie and would like to can outside as well. is it possible to just buy an older apt. sized stove and just use it outside?? is it possible to find a drop cord that would adapt to the indoor outlet?
What you really need is a propane stove like mine. You can do all the caning you want on it and it only costs about $100 to buy new. Ask A T Hagan he saw mine and it is great for caning or boiling.

Old Vet when we all come to Arkansas we are going to ask for open wood fire cooking lessons. Don't hold your breath awaiting our arrival as it might be a number of years, if at all.
