Ya know when I talked about growing our own food, living in the country, raising animals for food, etc ect..people at work looked at me like I was insane. Got some ribbing about being a redneck and all that but as things get worse, people are asking me about what I'm doing.

It's not that hard to see that the country is in trouble and headed downhill. gas prices started going up, people have less disposable income because they have to spend it on fuel to get to work to make money, meanwhile with rising fuel prices, companies are losing money and start cutting jobs, raising prices on goods and services to cover fuel costs and thats even less disposable income for families, which means they spend less on frivolous things, causing more companies to cut staff..food prices keep going up because fuel and feed costs keep rising and it just snowballs till we hit bottom or go bankrupt.

I work for an airline, in september, along with most other airlines we are cutting 3000+ jobs and 20% of our flights because the cost of fuel is killing the airlines. They cant raise ticket prices because the consumers set the prices, we raise the price , less demand, empty seats, negative profit.

Anyway, the devaluation of the dollar is putting a serious hurting on the whole country and if Congress doesn't step up and do some major budget cuts along with restoring the value of our currency we're all in for a rough time ahead...this is just the beginning..Say what you will about Ron Paul but the man knows his economics and much of what he is saying falls on deaf ears...hopefully people will take the time and listen.

as far as ammo, states are working on putting limits on ammo sales...california for instance. Under AB2062, it would be unlawful to privately transfer more than 50 rounds of ammunition per month, even between family and friends, unless you are registered as a “handgun ammunition vendor” in the Department of Justice’s database. Ammunition retailers would have to be licensed and store ammunition in such a manner that it would be inaccessible to purchasers. The bill would also require vendors to keep a record of the transaction including the ammunition buyer’s name, driver’s license, the quantity, caliber and type of ammunition purchased, and right thumbprint, which would be submitted to the Department of Justice or the number of his handgun ammunition purchase permit. Vendors would be required to contact the purchase permit database, to verify the validity of a permit before completing a sale. All ammunition sales in the State of California would be subject to a $3 per transaction tax. Lastly, mail order ammunition sales would be prohibited. Any violator of AB2062 would be subject to civil fines.
