Yes, it's very good on green beans. Also on baked potatoes, instead of butter.

it's the best cutting oil there is for use at the drill press, i keep a can of bacon grease with a small brush there, it dosen't melt away when the drill is hot like commercial oil does.

We don't use a whole lot of bacon, certainly less than some years ago. We head towards smoked picnic, which has more meat to the amount of fat. I usually parboil those. Most bacons are very high in salt, so so are the drippings. Not so good for people, pets, birds. Bacon grease isn't a good choice for soap. Too soft... and the salt. I sometimes compost fats by burying in the compost pile, though I know that could draw critters, or add to the burn barrel. Sue

I prefer bacon fat for cooking. In fact, occasionally I buy a 10-lb box of bacon scraps to cook down to get the grease as much as the bacon. (The bacon goes into the freezer. As I want some it is easy to toss in the skillet with eggs being cooked.)

Don't know if it was mentioned, but put into a container and cooled it can be put out for birds.
