Wow, excellent way to deal with that. I don't think I would've been so willing. Luckily none of my kids have ever made a similar request

What a great mom you are!

When my son was three we were in the front yard catching lightning bugs. An older lady who walked every evening stopped and asked him what we were doing. He said, "We're catching lightning bugs to eat for supper!".

That woman never spoke to me again.

Tell your son that worms taste MUCH better if they are first processed through a hen.

My kids eat all kinds of bugs processed that way.

This reminds me of a few years back when Fear Factor was so popular. My son came downstairs and announced that he had eaten a fly. When I asked him why, he told me he was practicing for that show!

Thanks for the laugh. I had a little girl and her borther that I babysat for 8 years. She was always eating worms. It started when she was about 2. I'm still not convinced that this had nothing to do with my two sons and her brother. But they still swear they had nothing to do with it, 25 years later. I was always asking her, "What is in your mouth?", She would give this look and then open her mouth to find a worm. Why she ate worms? "Because they taste good." So when I watch Bizarre (sp?) Foods on tv, I think of her, she would have been perfect for this show. So think of it, as a potential tv show. I have to give you credit for cooking it for him. I was always saying spit it out.
