[QUOTE=Sorry for those that missed it.
Sorry I didn't get to see you Ree. (Grams). I was hoping you would show up.
I did get to meet another couple that are real homesteaders from that area.
They live off grid. I am sorry to say I don't remember their names.
Heck, at my age it is a wonder I remember my own![/QUOTE]
Corky, how sweet of you to think of us. We were really hoping to make it, but Tom has just been covered up getting his folks back in their house after the storm. He said this was his last week of working on it. LOL, of course he still has fixtures to hook up and trim work, but at least they are in it now, and he isn't pressuring himself so much.

Glad everyone had a good time.

Hey Corky

I probably was the first to hear it thunder, being outside. I got up first, and started pokeing around until I saw it lightening and then i got packed. it started to sprinkle and I helped Marlene to bring stuff to her car. When it started to shower, I bailed out, haveing the furtherest to drive. It didnt get hard till I got to springfield, and from there on the wind was added. Suzy dont have PS, and so whenever I would hit a patch of water, I would over compensate. and the wind didnt help with that either, but other than loseing one piece of plywood, I made it fine. Parts of Tulsa didnt. Paper said 65Gs people was out of elect. I saw a wood building on its top, and heard the roof of a Chepo Depot went off makeing things there really cheap, free if you could find them lol

This always sounds like so much fun. Sometime I really need to come down for it. And it isn't like I'm all that far away, It is only about 4 hours from Topeka to Springfield. And from Springfield is how long to Buffalo River?

Sorry that I haven't been able to post before now....Just got a day off today to get to the library to set up my new puter for the internet.
I am in the process of uploading some of my photos from the picnic....and yep, I'm kind of proud of the pictures of Caitlin.... I think we did well....
As usual, I had a blast....For me personally, it would have been more fun if I hadn't had to show up about daylight Saturday morning....I got to figuring later, that I'd been up for almost 40 hours straight.....am getting WAY too old for that....
Marlene, it was so good to see you, and enjoy your wonderful cooking...Maybe this fall, we can all spend a bit more time together...I'd like to take a stab at making some waffles in my waffle maker...
Corky and Milton, always fun to see you two. It was nice to meet your GS as well.... he's a nice boy....and it was also nice to listen to you play your dulcimer...
Laura, I just love spending time with your kids...they are all great!! I hope Caitlin enjoys the pictures...
After we all broke camp Sunday morning, Don, Dennis and I went to their place where Don cooked up a nice sunday morning breakfast....and I needed it!! I didn't realize I was hungry til after he started cooking.... I spent the night there, and [regretfully] had to leave monday, so that I could get home and get the gear all out of the car....
Bill, I'm glad you made it home okay, but it didn't really rain all that much after you left...I think we were getting hammered at my house, as I came home to MUCH mud!!
Laura, tell Caitlin I appreciate her giving me all the ringtones for my phone...
I will post the pics here in a bit.....
