If you use lye, or bleach I hope your not planning on any grass growing, or is this just a mud hole?
Lime works, if used sparingly.

The snow melted today, so I had a clean-up job myself.
Just get out the rubber gloves, the bag and go for it.

Kinda cold yet today, so your hands get sorta cold, unless you find a fresh (warm) one to keep your hand warm.

Watched a commerical today, couple was rolling around on the grass, don't do this if you have big dogs.

I guess I would have never thought of worms, don't you take your dog/dogs to the vet?

yeeeeesssss, I vet my animals regularly. This is not a mud hole- its a regular yard with grass. There are a few spots where the grass is worn away that need re-seeded. If worming your dogs was a permanent "fix" you would NOT need to do it regularly, would you? Hence, its safe to say that you worm your dogs regularly because they are dogs and are always getting re-exposed to worms and parasites. That being the case, its safe to say that dogs probably are carrying worms of some type around in their gut most of the time. If you had a baby that was as preemie as mine was you would get a little unbalanced about/worry about everything too. Did you read the whole post??

Yes, I did read the post, and meant no disrespect, sorry if I offended you, was just a question.
Vets are expensive, almost like fur kids, seems that we are always having to visit them for this/that shots/pills, whatever.

I know that the dogs will pretty much destroy the grass, the urine is very strong, and they like to scratch, (attempt to cover it up?).
Lye or bleach will destroy whats left of it.

In normal weather, it is patrolled daily, but since the last time I have seen the grass was Jan 20, there was quite a bit that need to be dealt with.

I have to do the yard mostly every year, and mine turns into a mud hole, at least parts of it, and has to be patched/filled/seeded.
In the spring I spread straw, so as to keep the mud to a minimum. I do use wood ashes in the bare spots/urine burns, to help neutralize the urine when replanting.

I guess if I was that concerned, wouldn't let a small baby/child in that area if I could help it. This doesn't seem to be an option?
Dog will be dogs, kids will be kids, Moms will be Moms.

I have to admit, I was grinning as I read this post and some of the answers. Yall are a hoot! Lol

If you have cleaned up the feces and your dog has its annual shots and stuff, I would bet Mother Nature takes care of the rest and your kids can have a good time playing in this new section of the yard!

It will definately be okay for them to play in, especially after several hard freezes and cleaning up the mess, the parasites are very unlikely to survive that. I have 4 little ones myself so that's an understandable concern

Hunter63-
I'm sorry to snap at you, I'm just out of sorts today and I thought you were pointing a finger at me. I'm normally not so quick to think the worst and I apologize to you. I am just getting over a 3 day migraine where I took a lot of meds and they do make me cranky. I hate it when my mouth outruns my brain!
