Hey Matthew,

Are you moving to the farm AND retiring? You are blessed indeed!

Seeded the pasture today, (With a broadcast spreader of all things! I think I walked 5 miles!) it was pretty much a blank slate as it was planted in corn last year. I had trouble finding pasture seed around here though. Ended up mixing up my own custom blend at the feed store. Not a lot at stake this year, so I figured I would just wing it.

Worked on finding my corner posts today so I can line up my fences. Finished one end of the property and would have finished the other but the neighbors got curious and came over leading to a big pow wow on the previous owners of the land. Oh well, I got an offer to help out with a down tree!

Wow, can't believe it has been 3 years since we moved to the Homestead. A lot has changed and I think it is only going to get better. Check out the blog link below to see what has been going on...

Great blog, Matthew.

I really enjoyed your narrative and all the wonderful pictures.
