silentcrow, I have a friend who surpassed dropping the fuel tank to replace the pump by cutting a hole in the bed of his pickup. It looked like hell, but he was able to do the job himself. I laugh just thinking about it. These fuel pumps are a problem.

Wow, Valent, even if I could do the job myself, no way would I cut a hole in the truck bed! How does your friend haul small things without losing them? I've always got little things rattling around back there...Tools, nuts, bolts, screws, nails, all kinds of misc stuff.

find a 10-year old to touch the coil wire as you crank the engine. If they scream, you've got spark. Then it's the fuel pump.

KIDDING. DO NOT DO THIS. IT IS DANGEROUS!!!

He made a cover for the hole and actually spot welded it back closed. However, that repair is real ingenuity.
