Second recommendation for the 5 gal. Bucket trap!

Go Google it and easy to make. I have one in the workshop and use antifreeze in it over winter. Works great.

Funny story - my father-in-law gets a call from his neighbor asking to look as his feed bin. He goes and looks and sure enough there are mice in the feed from the droppings, so my father-in-law says, "You have mice."

Neighbor says, "Sheesh, first I kill that rat snake that was living out here and now I have to kill the mice!"

Father-in-law says, "If you wouldn't have killed the rat snake, you wouldn't HAVE the mice."

We use regular mousetraps baited with raisins; you can use the same raisin several times. As for the sonic devices, I've heard several stories that they attract snakes--mouse vs. snake. Uhmmmm.

LOL. My SIL lives in a city neighborhood with her terrier. Twice in the last month her dog has caught and killed a rat in the middle of the night and brought it in the house by way of the dog door. The first night SIL bent down in the dark and nearly picked it up. She said she had to peel herself off the ceiling.

Her dog is a fancy purebred with a cushy life. It was nice to hear it doing exactly what it was originally bred to do. Good dog!
