Are you guys talking about tires with steel belts in them? I've been putting off getting all the tires here cut because I figure those steel belts are gonna be horrible to cut at. Would it be possible to cut through a tire with a pair of heavy duty wire clippers---at the steel belt parts, I mean, and use a saw for the softer parts?

DixyDoodle if you stay off to the side of the tread and cut just the sidewalls off, you shouldn't run into any steel (might take a couple of tires before you find the right place to cut). I think wire clippers would have a hard time getting through the rubber to get to the wires inside.
