Deaconjim, have an old-fashioned "cabin raising" and invite all your HT friends!! Many hands make light work! And all the different experts for each method can try their way and see which one's best. Meanwhile, the cabin is getting built........ And all us ladies will help Rose fix High Tea and dinner, and breakfast, and lunch, and tea again, until the place is finished!!!

Sounds like a great idea to me! Rose definitely likes the High Tea part.

you guys amaze me. to actually discuss building a log house when I can bearly manage to figure out how to fix the hinged window covers on the henhouse windows...wow. at the grand old age of 48 I am learning so much just by "listening" in on the conversations. rock on!

We've got to get the subfloor done first, and get the logs up here. Rose says that you might need to come on over so you ladies can practice before the real thing happens.

Hmmmm, if I go down 460 thru Blacksburg, it's longer than going down 77, but I could stop at the Indian place and get takeaway..... One of the disadvantages to living in the boonies is that the nearest really good ethnic restaurant is 40 miles away! We've got a couple decent Mexican places, and some average Chinese, but REALLY GOOD? Nothing close..... Tell Rose that if we're going to get really authentic, I have a jug of Lyle's stashed around here somewhere.....

Edited to say: oops, thread drift, sorry

"Nearby" is relative....it's between 30-40 miles and 45 min away..... But it is gooooood!
