We have both the cart and seeder. The cart is wonderful as there is a hill on the back of our property and it is just too steep to push the wheelbarrow up with a load of wood or leaves, but with the cart no problem. We haven't used our seeder much as DH is 6'6" and he really has to bend to use the cart, wish you lived closer maybe we ccould work out a deal.

Just a quick response to Cabin Fever: On the good versions of these carts, the axle/wheel assembly is much heavier-duty than you would find on a bicycle. With the kind of loads I haul, a bicycle wheel would potato-chip almost instantaneously.

All I know is that my bicycle will hold 250 pounds.

I have put many, many, many of the "Vermont carts" (as the thread title calls them) together and will say follow the directions in order. They are one of those things that if you don't, the bolt holes will not line up and you will end up starting over

They are a good cart and will last a really long time if you don't leave them outside. I think they are made with AC plywood now, but they used to be OSB and if they where left out the wood would fall apart.

They are a US company for sure. They are made in Lyndonville Vermont (where I grew up actually) and being close to Canada I am sure the plywood comes from there. Very small company, they don't even have a factory, it is more of a workshop barn type place

They stand up on their front gate nicely for storage

The big garden carts are rated for 450 pounds, and I know that I've moved more than that in one.

I just ordered a new one from Lee Valley; I'll let you know how it looks once I put it together.

My husband actually does the website for these guys (Vermont Carts, not Seeds of Change), I've been trying to get him to see if we can get one for free. He says that they're really high quality. It's a family owned business if I remember right.
