we built ours out of straw bales and put plywood on top, 3 blankets and a carpet scrap for the door. the floor is also plywood. his house is inside the garage, but I'd bet you could cover it with a tarp.

Where are you located. You might visit a local sawmill like mine. For $10 you can fill your truck with cedar slabs many are rejected boards. A shelter can be made and cheap.

If you are going to use cattle panels anyway, might build it like the hoop houses everyone here is posting nowadays. It is taller though...

If I had to buy everything to build this same shelter again it would cost about $60

The truck topper is a really good idea. My next chicken coop will be made with one (If I ever get time to build it!)

ETA: Just saw Cguardsman's shelter... That is pretty simple, and the smaller height would make it eaiser to keep warm.

lots of good ideas!

when i got home, my son had already put the truck topper in there, and the pigs were snuggled up inside. that'll hold 'em.
