??A pharmacist told me a cough suppressant actually helps thin out the mucus, so that when you DO cough it is more productive...a pharmacist at any store should be able to help with over the counter meds recommendations, should you decide not to see a physician.

sinus rinse pots are also known as Neti Pots, one brand name is Rhino.

Me too. I'm just getting over a bout of nasty bronchitis myself.
Infection = antibiotic (at least for me)

For sinus colds, you can head off a cold with a nasal douche. big bowl or sink of warm water, add salt and baking soda to create a home-brew saline solution. Stick your face into it and suck it up your nose. A few rinses and the cold goes away. Sounds harder to do than it really is. Better to do at first sign of a cold.
