Pay the mortgage ahead one month, to give me margin as I get paid every other week and sometimes that ck comes 2 days after the mortgage is due. I have to pay it out before my kids find out as they are already planning what to do with their "$300" each!

I had to chuckle the other day when DD12 came home from school, and the kids on the bus had been talking about "their" $300 checks that were coming in the spring.... Now Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that the kids are interested in current events, but we had a discussion about "her" check if they actually show up, and how it would be put to use to benefit the family

Well, I think we are a long way from the economy turn around.

Looks like the Feds will cut .25 % or more today to boost this econ. Housing is in the...well, the numbers are not good and it's just the begining folks.

Guess we just have to ride this pony, saddle sores and all.

If it in-fact happens, it will be in the form of a check. At this point it is still a pipe dream. Looks likely, but don't spend it yet, the Senate doesn't like being left out of the original discussions.

Ours will go into our savings account. We already spend enough to do our share of economic stimulating.

A few windows in the house need replaced and I'd really like a tankless hot water heater, so will be spending the money but both of those will cut my fuel bills in the future and increase the value of my home so its an investment.

Add it to the cost of building a barn/shop this summer...I hope to anyway!

Oooops, I just remembered that I have to pay federal income tax of $200. Oh well, so much for the stimulus check!

What are you going to do with your economic stimulus check? - Homesteading Questions

Quote:
After growing weakly the first half of the year, economists surveyed last week by USA TODAY expect the economy to gradually accelerate in 2008 as consumer spending and business investment improves. Fed officials will cut their target for short-term interest rates to 2.75% by the middle of the year, according to the poll of 51 economists conducted Jan. 23-25.
Yeah...right!!

I'm thinking about a jointer and planer. I have never owned either of these tools and would have lots of use for them. Any recommendations? Please PM me.
Thanks,
Chas
