When we get a heavy snow during the night I have to snow blow our 150 ft drive way in the dark before I go to work. I used to snow blow in the dark, but recently bought a LED headlight that was highly recommended by an Amish friend. Wearing the headlight cut my snow blowing time in half - LOL! It works great.

I must admit that I do miss snow blowing in the dark when it is a clear night. I used to see so many more stars after my eyes become adjusted to the dark.

We use it to pick crops at night. The bugs are usually so bad early in the morning that doing it at night lets us pick them before they wilt in the sun...especially green beans, which require so much attention at the hottest part of the summer. They're also great for picking tomato hornworms off crops because the light shining on them makes them easier to spot, since without the contrast they're almost invisible.

I'm with Cabin Fever. They're a godsend for field dressing deer after dark. No more balancing flashlights or lanterns on sticks or rocks to get light where you need it or trying to hold one in your mouth while you cut. Nothing like dropping the mini-mag you were holding in your mouth right into a pile of bloody deer guts. Yeah you wipe it off but you still end up with that taste in your mouth.

This one belongs in the "Why didn't I think of that?" category! I just added it to my shopping list. Thanks for all the GREAT ideas.

we bought one for my dad for Christmas and when we tried it he got a GC instead LOL

we use it for chicken checking after dark, noise investigation, and DH uses it to get a better look at his projects while woodworking.

I bought one for my dh 5-6 years ago, for fishing. So he could find his way back to camp. We use it for everything from feeding in the dark to attics, crawl spaces and finding our way to the generator when we have no power. This has been the most used tool we have bought. We are always finding new uses for it.

I use mine a lot in the summer working in the garden. It's usually quite a bit cooler. I've used it a lot harvesting early in the mornings before going to the farmers market as well. My other two main uses for it are fishing and shoveling snow.

We love ours. We have a his & hers. I use it when I am a sheep midwife. DH uses it for truck/tractor repairs.

All the above - especially good for checking nest boxes for eggs after dark.

We also use ours for running out and grabbing clothes off the line when it starts raining (and wasn't supposed to) and it's not light outside.

Used them recently for reading when the power was out for several hours. Yeah, we have kerosene lamps and candles but the headlamp is brighter and is shining right where you want it.
