You might mention that your heifers are not up to your usual standards before they see them.

Chances are a LOT of farmers have lean cattle this year, if the forage is as nutrient-poor as you have said.

I was reading a MT blog last night. (You inspired me to do so!) Sounds like all the MT ranchers are having the same problem you are with low weights, poor calving, lack of rain, poor grass, etc.

Check it out at sarpysam.com

Keep us posted, and keep your chin up!!!

Join a kennel club and take your dogs to field trials. You could also learn to train and handle sheep dogs. I was told by one trainer that trained dogs sell very well, $5k and up.

And get that horse! Lots of places have saddle clubs with trail rides and such.

Loneliness is something that can eat away at you for sure. Join a local group which shares interests you do....i.e. computer, books, guns. Be sure and be in tune with your God, and attend a local church if you can find one. But, don't go just to church, go to Sunday School also as this will become your family. You can sit in church 52 times a year by different people, but in Sunday School you become part of that group. Pray about you being Lonely. God listens, sometimes he doesn't answer as fast as we like but he does answer. Also, don't give up on going to Sunday School, if you go to one and don't like it.......shop around a little. That doesn't hurt at all. You will meet someone when you least expect it.......I used to think that was just a saying, but as I get older I see it does happen much more than we think. Do a John Wayne and grab your boot straps and get out there and attack the loneliness.......You can do it, anyone can if they set their mind. If you hadn't wanted to change you would not have posted here so your are set to go! Just get up and get after it!

Good luck and keep us posted!
Scott

Church is a good place to find a good woman. Did you take a look at the Yahoo Personals? A friend of mine found a nice companion there. MV out!

EDIT- Did I mention women love horses?
