I suspect you have no intention of shooting it, if you were going to you probably wouldn't be talking about it here. And isn't it about time they took the darn things off the endangered species list? There seem to be an awful lot of them around here.

I'd be scared to death to shoot a eagle. No, I wouldnt eat one, and I'm afraid it would guarentee my eating bologna behind bars for a looong time.

I found an injured Redtailed Hawk in the yard last weekend that someone had apparently shot. It was dying and I went ahead and put it down.
It was shot in the tailsection and had maggots in it.
Is that illegal? If it was illegal, what other recourse should have been taken?

I know in our area the local game warden would've been more than happy to come out.

I've spoken to several game officers at our game and parks commission and they've made it very clear they want to know about any incidents involving raptors (hawks, eagles, owls) - also so they can track disease (West Nile).

I'd give them a call first and if they say they aren't coming out - ask them what you should do...

We rarely see bald eages so the sight of one near my property would be breathtaking - - - those of you who see them more often are very lucky. We are limited to seeing them during spring migration and maybe one or two if you happen to be along a river.

We see hawks, golden eagles, and bald eagles on a daily basis. It stopped being breath taking when they started circling my chickens. Thankfully, the swoop was for a snake.

Chicken?...no! The best way to describe the taste for me, would be similiar to a Golden Eagle, with a hint of gameyness from a Perigene Falcon. Also...If you do choose to eat the feathers and all, remember, feathers don't digest well, and they'll float, so just when you think the evidence is racing somehwere through the pipe work, you may just get a suprise that that won't quite go away, LMBO! Don't ask how I know this...
