Well, I'm the dork that forks over $100 a cord to you dorks. And happy to do it. It is still 90+ degrees here. I have one fallen oak I need to cut. But it won't be til it finally cools off.

I'm with you on that one. I love everything about hauling firewood. Although I'm such a girl sometimes that I can't split the big stuff, I am Super Woman on busting up sawmill slabs!!

"dork" is a lot older than american teenage sang go back a few hundred years to whalers--think Moby Dick's, uh, (Insert Austin Powers)--trouser snake, tallywhacker, wedding tackle :baby04: :baby04: :baby04:

Of course the Great God Wikipedia says this def is urban legend--although there are sources to say well yeah people used this word this way. I still think it's funny. But I'm not making fun of you, just laughing with you because I'm a freakin' wood choppin' moon dancin' wench dork myself. Huh!

Callie, lol, I enjoyed your truck story. We have an old wood truck named "brown beauty" or "brown beast" depending on how she is behaving that day. Her engine is good, but her body is held together with bungee straps, the door handles don't work and the floor is partly rusted out. I love this truck, just can't explain it

I could've used your dorkiness today. A dead pear tree blew over in the wind last night. Had to chop it up to move it. How I wish I had a fireplace. For now it's just left to rot in a brush pile.

I don't think you're a dork because you like to cut firewood. A nut maybe, but not a dork.

Well, then I guess I'm a big dork!

At least now we might know the origin of the phrase "Dork: The other white meat."

I love going out in the woods cutting firewood. Unfortunately I don't get to go out enough. It brings back great memories of my dad and I going out and him letting me drive the wood truck home when I was about 12 or 13. I felt so grown up. I can remember him telling my brothers and I that cutting firewood warms you twice~ Once when you cut it and once when you burn it at home. I used that with my son's last year when they were complaining about cutting wood. I felt like an elder! LOL
