Gramp had one too. His was on a wooden stand and was quite old. I used to pedal it for fun.

Don't use a motor.
Too much speed (RPM) will cause
it to fly apart.

I've seen ones where they take the metal out of the hub./..leave it hollow and use it as a fountain...pump water up through the stone.

thats not a stone for girnding grain but rather a stone for sharpening tools such as knives, axes etc. mount it vertically and use the handle or connect the handle to a foot treddle and use it to keep your tools at their cutting best.
