Mt favorite off-grid item is this two-stroke, 32cc engine, gasoline-powered blender. Take it along in the boat, on ATV rides, snowmobile rides, or to the ice-fishing shanty and blend up your own margaritas without electricity. I suppose there are many other uses, too.

And why is Jimmy Buffet coming to mind right now?
My favorite non electric item...hmmm, gonna have to think on that one.
I got it! The one thing I do miss the most was my Singer Treadle sewing machine...no having to move the machine around to where there was an outlet, and also could sew even when the electric went out...

We have a Mouli food grater with different blades for different sizes of coarsness. It is about 25 years old and I use it faithfully for veggies and cheese. Very easy to clean. Makes fast hashbrowns or sliced potatoes.

We use a Foley Mill that I like quite well. We also have a hand-cranked radio/flashlight that works well but you have to crank it up again every 10-15 minutes or so. Our grain mill (Retsel Mill-Rite), while electric, can be hand cranked. I really like it in electric mode but haven't yet used it in manual mode.
We're starting a small solar system, and the first two items we're putting on solar are the well pump (shallow well) and a Sundanzer deep freeze.

Right now my most Fav./useful one is the "shake" flashlight.
Had the power go out a couple days ago and it was getting cold in here. Grabbed the flashlight and out I went to get some wood in. No searching for batteries and sure saved on tripping over things in the dark.
So maybe I could say even the woodstove?...?
Followed up by a hand mixer.
As for clothes line well I take it for granted sometimes, I guess. Always had one and wouldn't do without it....ever! Love that fresh smell in dried clothes/bedding.

I'm off-grid but I still use my electric coffee maker and food processor. So I guess my favorite appliance or gadget would have to be my inverter!
