Well, maybe I'm buying or selling poults. I go to a swap and someone has 20 Bourban Red poults. I only want a breeding trio. If I'm just going to go straight run, I better get 8-10 of them to insure I get what I need. Same deal if I'm selling them.

Another scenario, I want laying hens. Sure, I can buy straight run and eat the roosters, but most laying breeds make for some pretty scrawny roosters and it takes forever to get any size. I'd be better off buying my hen chicks and then getting cornish X roosters.

As a technician for at&t in Dallas, I know it works very well for locating cut or abandoned phone cables which you can not send a locate tone through. We also locate buried manholes this way. The city of Dallas also uses witching to locate water and sewer lines.
