Current ginseng prices are going for $300 to $350 a pound. Use to dig it in the north central mountains of PA., never found enough to amount to anything. I think I read somewhere that you would have to fill 4 breadbags of green seng to produce 1 lb. of dried seng.

I'm not sure what you are finding all misinformation in this thread.
I have been digging and growing ginseng since I was 12 years old and have watched the laws come in and change. I have even seen the federal government put out a new law, only 10 year old ginseng can be sold and then go back to the 5 year old plant with three prongs.
Myself I would never sell such young roots.
The reason I wait 15 to 20 years is so I have something worth digging.
I looked at your laws and regulations in your state and they didn't seem as restrictive as our state laws on ginseng.
Even in your state it say that the roots must me certified to hold and keep and not quite sure if not so you can sell the roots.
Ginseng is a federally protected plant and each state is given guide lines that they must meet in the harvesting and the season to harvest but it's up to each state to write the rules and regulations for ginseng in that state.
So please tell what is BS about this thread.
People are wanting to know what the laws are and such so they don't do something illegal.

The problem with wild ginseng is in alot of places it has been over harvested because of the money that can be made from it.
It doesnt exactly grow overnight from seed it takes 4-5 years fora patch to become established and even then I wouldnt harvest it till it was older. People who know what to look for search the woods for it. A truely wild patch is a gold mine and people like to hide or keep it quiet about their patches. Its almost as bad as pot (marijuana) around here you can get shot over it if your not careful.
