Really dry in N Alabama. I had to stop watering my plants and everything is pretty much dead now. Our tap water is the worst Iv ever tasted it must be from water getting low. They are calling for rain this week. I hope it makes it to everyone that needs it

We've had the same trouble here in nw fl. It's been a bad year all over.
My daughter lives in Cumberland county,TN & when I told her how I missed the green grass up there, she said it was beginning to look more and more like down here! They did get a little rain a couple days ago and I think they all did a happy dance in it..lol

The trees on my property have been turning yellow and dropping leaves for a couple of weeks now.

Yeah, it's been one heckuva' year with no rain and record heat in August to boot. It was the dry late Winter and early Spring that was so amazing to me. I've seen plenty of dry Summers/Falls, but it quit raining here in February and has been dry since. I've never seen that.

My Dad lives in E TN near Johnson City. His pond is dry and he's been watering his cattle from his well. So far his well is doing good and also providing water for his garden.

Here in WV we are on a very old shallow hand dug well; I think they rely on the water table rather than an aquifer, don't they? At any rate, we've been showering only when we absolutely can't stand ourselves any longer, and doing laundry only when we run out of clean undies. I'll be glad to see some rain. I feel guilty every time I fill up the canner with water or wash a bunch of veggies.

In TN there was a large surge of cattle hitting the sales barn earlier this year. Reports there is likely to be another one coming up due to dry ponds. I suspect a lot of spring born calves are going to be riding in the same trailers as their mommas.

Financially I'd be a lot better off selling out the herd and then the rolls of hay for $60-70 bale it is going for locally.
