Back many years ago the U.S. was more isolated than it is today. People didn't have any choice as far as country of origin when they bought. Today they have a choice and they are buying from other countries. Each year they buy more from other countries and less from the U.S. The U.S. is now having to compete with other countries for our dollars. We, the workers, will be forced to compete with other countries for our salaries. It has already started and there is no turning back. Either the other countries will come up to our level or we will sink to theirs. We have no other choices.

A reason for the lack of choices was trade restrictions that protected our manufacturing economy. There is no compeyteing unless you're competeing on a level playing field and I really don't want to play on a field like our invading copetitors play on. The US really didn't or doesn't have to compete worldwide if they would have protected their manufacturing industry. Once you open the gates there is no turning back. The powers that be basically sold out the working man and woman in this country, and since that's the catagory I'm in that's what I'm more concerned about. They are now doing it to the professionals lowering their wages and standards, we'll have to see how that plays out.

4.7 unemployment. equals about 2.3 "real" unemployment.

What is the problem? Folks want to bring jobs back the US. WHO IS GOING TO DO THEM?

I am in that 4.7 number many of you may be as well. What dose it take to be figured into that number? Every self employeed person, every stay at home mom or dad. Every perosn that is a "contractor" Or "sub contractor" with a 1099 and folks that work for cash. Folks that are diabled and MANY MORE are fiured in that number.

Our unemployment is the LOWEST it has ever been. In you area times may be tight, but in the rest of the US they are doing just fine.

When Wal Mart is hiring at 11 bucks a hour. In my area Golden Corral had to open 3 weeks late PAYING FULL TIME 18.80 A HOUR and providing health care at 60 bucks a week for the whole family. They could not fill the jobs!!! How am I to compete? I wish I had a group buying policy for health care. Yet even they could not fill the jobs to open on time.

Some places in Montana are offering 10k sign on bonuses for NO EXPERIANCE REQUIRED jobs. Working as labor or cooks.

If there are not jobs in your area MOVE!!! You are allowed to move. You do not need permission. Do not even try "well my family is here", Grow up get a set and provide for your family. If your family can not under stand your going to better places for better times. Then you have a real problem.

Kid from Trenton Illionis in 2005 I know left to Wyoming. He was a new wed guy with a 7 month old. Working for 12 bucks a hour with no benifits. He got a deal. He was shook up and was chatting at the bar about it.

About two weeks latter he was in Wyoming. His WIFE HATED IT. He was there she was here. He came home and while at the bar we chatted. HE WAS STARTING TO LIKE IT THERE. He was trying to get the meat balls up to tell his wife SHE was moving as well. He set up a new home. His wife is kinda from this area. He IS from this area. This is all he ever knew.

At Last August fest here in Mascoutah both were here as you are expected to be. They are as happy as ever. Boy to hear them go on and on. I was wanting to go up there.

He is a trained welder. Yet now he is a " mud stud" he test some type of mud for oil rigs. These folks have money now. Not big money, but 100k isn't going to hurt them.

Around here there is plenty of good paying jobs, just most are 40 hours and that is it. Most are also service jobs. Not mechanical and enginering jobs.

Heck a dope head around hear in the St Louis area that has a half a set of tools can be a deisal machanic and earn 30 a hour EAZY! Even if they have never seen a deisal engine.

There are no "mexicans" around here to hire at the Home depot. They all have JOBS.

If you find one they will not even think of working for less then 15 a hour. 25 a hour is more real.

Folks LOVE to complain about them. I ask them all the time. When was the last time you even TRIED to hire a mexican to work for you? MOST never have. That mean s they have no clue!

Heck give me every illigal in the area at 12.50 a hour Ill make a MILLION bucks off them easy. Yet they are not stupid like us. They do not settle for min wage.

I had a very lucrutive lawn main company here. We cut with 3 crews 280 lawns a week. I charged 60 bucks a hour 1/2 hour min. Most lawns only took 12 mins to cut, trim and blow with a 3 man crew. Folks got mad. They maid us 30 bucks and we came in and the lawn was perfect? Yet the folks wanted to see us sweat more. Takes them 3 hours to get it looking that great. They got mad at how well we did it.

30k truck, 3k trailer 35k in mowing equipment. Then go figure 10k a year in workmans comp. Not to mention fuel. We left residential mainance. I only run one crew now. All we do is commercial mowing. (I really can not say we as I basically told my life long fieind do this and he did.). I do nothing with it now.

WMany worry about a mexican taking their job. I ask all the time. WHO HAS LOST THEIR JOB TO A MEXICAN in this country?

More AMERICAN jobs have moved "up north" then down south. Yet that is ok. Because they are white up there.

Folks, unemployment is not a problem. It isn't. Good paying jobs. NOT A PROBLEM! Folks comming into our country and taking our jobs from the north. That is starting to be a problem. YET, NO ONE WILL COMPLAIN.

Two Mexican move next to you you get a little worried. What about the two Canadians that moved down the street from you wht not worry about them?

I

Don't worry....Ron Paul is going to seal the border, get rid of the war on drugs program and the national minimum wage...... I am not going to work for 50 cents an hour......but somebody is going to have to.....so they can pack more mexicans into those drug boats (which will not be intercepted) and bring them in to fill the void........everybody from the middle class down will starve, but who cares.......all the bigtimers will be keeping more of their money because of lower wage costs and and they will beable to hire mexicans for 50 cents and hour to keep the Angry American people off of thier property.......Karl Marx will be wrong for the second time about classless society.........

Its a world economy......accept that fact....... we are all people....we all need to feed our families.

Then quit griping and get off of the Internet and go to work and feed your family and maybe Ron Paul will give you a job when he is elected.

Because you can not post anywhere without complaining about him because you are obsessed with him.

Does Ron Paul look that good to you that you have
to bring him up on every thread ? ? ?

You must dream about Ron Paul every night.

You must really like Ron Paul so go ahead and vote for him for president.

Actually, If things went his way, I would loose my job if he got elected..... My salary is paid out of one of those federal grants he doesn't believe in funding.

You first need to be half way smart. The Mexicans need no Boat to get here. They have crossed every day for the last 40 years to go to work.

NOT A PROBLEM. They will keep doing that and put folks like you out of work. While you chase min wage jobs. They will chase the 20 dollar a hour jobs. Get paid 20 a hour and you can sit on your porch complaining about how they are cutting down you wage.
