the fly bait works even better with milk. as an added bonus you will clean out the neighborhood of stray dogs and cats as well as the coons possoms and skunks

keep the dead varmitts carryed off, specialy in the summer.

i keep the bait out in the open so as they cant crawl off and hide to die. i havent had anything get any farther than 15 ft away from thier last snack

I caught one last night with canned cat food, I just dump the whole can in the back of the have-a-heart trap and awake to trapped coon. I secure the trap so they can't roll it over to get the food out or escape once caught, a cinder block on top works well. I relocate them to under the ground.

Yup. It's basically a HavaHart clone.

I caught him the night before last and he was a big one.
I can't do the poison thing as I have barn cats that I want to keep around. I'm also afraid for my neighbors dogs - they do tour the property once in a while. I'm the type to take the tact that if they "visit" but don't do anything, they can live and let live. This 'coon would not. Thanks for the ideas.

Do NOT catch and release. You are standing a good chance of spreading disease and you're dumping your problem in someone else's backyard. It may look like empty country but there may be someone living just around the corner or over the hill. It is irresponsible of you to release elsewhere animals that you have trapped. If you trap it, kill it. Be responsible.
