$5,000-$10,000 for an acre that would be considered a house lot. If you buy larger pieces of undeveloped land the per acre price drops drastically.

My brother was offered acreage for $700/acre.....I think the guy had about 160 acres that he is trying to sell....Brother was interested in just getting 1 or 2 acres, just enough to get a house on.....

I live in town and have no land other than my yard so I had to do some checking to figure out how big an acre is......

I calculated my yard at 175 ft wide by 150 deep = 26,250 sq ft....an acre is 43,560 sq ft.....I think I have just a tad bigger than 1/2 an acre.....a typical lot in town is 25x150....I have 7 lots (I think my corner one is bigger than 25ft wide though).....we paid $38k for our 2000 sq ft, 2-story house with CH/A that sits on 7 lots
