Plum, followed by blackberry from wild blackberrys that fight you for each delicious berry. You learn to really appreciate that one.

Apple butter and mayhaw jelly. I've had prickly pear and it was good. I just found out you can make mayhaw syrup, mayhaw vinegar, and mayhaw butter!! However I'm having the hardest time finding mayhaw and prickly pear in KS! I know the mayhaw tree grows in East Texas. I was wondering if it could grow in Wichita, KS?

Just found out they're experimenting with mayhaw ice cream at www.mayhaw.org/ Interesting link...

My mom used to make the best apple cranberry preserves, red currant, cranberry with orange peel and spiced watermelon rind.

Plum, mustang grape, prickly pear, jalapeno, mesquite bean are all good. I haven't made any but plan to try this year.
