I'd stick with the tractor for bush hogging. More power and more traction, plus, as you stated, the ability to lift it over obstacles. A used tractor type bush hog can be found reasonably priced most anywhere, but one for an ATV will require its own engine, and you wont find good used ones available, IMO

I agree. I have a bush hog for my ATV and don't like it. The ATV just wasn't intended to pull it and it wasn't designed for heavy cutting. It would be great for an overgrown lawn but not fields.

Used my pull behind mower, 10hp for mowing trails/fields, beat the snot out of it!
Broke off the pull bar twice, and one of the axles.

Did the job, but had to go slow in rough ground, and deep grass.
Not recommended.

6ft brushhog on the tractor does a much better job.

Okay I rather figured the tractor option was better. Now if I could just decide on the tractor so easily!

CJ, take a look at Northern Tool. They have a 20HP (or there abouts) 4X4 Diesel Tractor with full hydraulics for around $6,000.00.
I've been eying them for a year now and can't find anyone who has had any major problems with them.
