Well thanks for putting words in my mouth there Eddie. I do not kill non-poisonous snakes, furthermore I only kill venomous snake when I have too. Assuming, know-it-all people like you make me laugh. My dogs know not to jump on snakes because of my snake training. It's a little rough sounding but it works. I learned this method from a man who made his living for 50+ years training bird dogs in West Texas. I assure you that this man knew his dogs. It is "tough love" but it works so does shock training.

Cant say I know it all, but I do know enough to APOLOGIZE when Im wrong. I thought you said you killed a nonpoisonious snake. I was wrong and I APOLOGIZE. I think the part about beating the dog blew my mind.

Thanks

Thanks for the apology. I am happy to be on this board, there is a wealth of good information here as well as some really nice people. I apologize for the hard edged comment from yesterday.

Regards,
Ty

Apologies

Awwww!!

It always makes me smile to see people apologize when they discover they are in the wrong about something. The Internet could use more people like you.

We don`t kill snakes on our place unless they are venomous, and then only because I have a young child and critters. We welcome non-venomous snakes.I am so ashamed of some of the people around where I live. They seem to make a game of running over every snake they can, usually Black Racers.

For all the snake advocates

I was misinformed, I was under the impression that blue racers were posionous, because as a child, my Dad would allow garter snakes, and he even transplanted them to our property, but blue racers were killed when they were found. Since learning that blue racers are harmless, I have left them alone. We were finding them where the dogs play and "do their business" as well as where I hang laundry, believing they were poisonous, I destroyed them. Rest assured, they are now safe from me and DH.
