No problem

Well I have been here now for 10 years and no it has not been "inspected" what ever that means. But it has been pumped 4 times since I have been here, there was no Inspection of the tank, I have been here every time he just digs down takes cover off and pumps out but has not "looked" at it.

So Cabin, how does it feel to be the anointed, proclaimed, recognized and duly elected Head Professor of Poop for HT? Getting a big head? I fully support and respect your position in this community hierarchy and applaud your wisdom.

But... something just doesn't smell right about this lofty position you hold.
Well thank you. I am flushed with pride!

So, next time ask him to inspect if first, then pump it only if it needs it. In short, inspection means measuring the sludge depth and scum thickess and making sure that the baffles are intact and the soil is not soggy or saturated around the drainfield or mound.

When I get some time, I will try to do some research on the Wisconsin code. My mother has a cabin in Wisconsin (Burnett County) and if I remember correctly the postcard that she got from the county said it was time to have her system "inspected."

I believe it all depends on your location in Wisconsin.

Your county and township has all their own laws for this stuff.
My county and township don't require anything, except the initial installation permits and inspections and approvals. Maintenance they area doesn't seem to care about. That's why we had a clause on our bid for this place pending the inspections and testing of well and septic.
Heck the county office didn't even have records for the well or septic here because they don't keep any.

Its a small populated county so maybe thats why they are not picky.
Heck you get your drivers license renewed at the local hardware store here because we don't even have a dept of motor vehicles in this county. :baby04:
