Are you giving up on homesteadingtoday.com or just the land in Ohio? What are your plans for your house and land in Ohio?

I wish you well on your mission. Maybe this is one of those 'mysterious ways' we hear he works in. I hope you don't give up on HT altogether, I find you to be one of the more grounded individuals that write on the board. [not the only one folks, but a fine one indeed]
I figure you take part of us with you when you go, use us as part of your strength, and don't be shy to ask for help from us either.

Thumbs up Keep us posted Bob.

All the best to you and yours. I once started an Independent Baptist Church in Chatsworth GA. There are a lot of challenges, but many blessings as well. Call on me if I can be of any help.

How exciting for you! I hope all goes well for you. As previously stated, above, if you want people to come to you, you have to go to them. I think that is even more true in rural areas. You have to walk right up to people, shake their hand, and personally invite them. If you get a youth study group going, I'm sure you will be able to attract young people. My dd was in a youth study, not of our church, and I think it was good for her.

Do you have to buy a place right away? If you rented you would have more time to look around, and sometimes people do not put property on the market but prefer to sell to someone they know or at least have recommendations for.

Well Zeal, God willing everything will work for you and then if God wants DH and I and DS1,DD,&DS2 to be on the farm then that is what it will be. I do pray for you and Amy and the kids though I know it will be tough for all of you and you can count on me and the kids to help you in any way. I love you guys and if you need me tell me how I can help and you do know my number and where I live. God Bless Bobby

I can't say much about CCD but it has been a rough winter for the bees. We are down to 3 hives at the farm but I am picking up additional packages/nucs in the near future. I think you have to be philosophical about it....there are good years and there are bad years.

Welcome to Pa.brother, hope you like snow!
We visit friends occasionally in the Spartansburg area.It looks like it would only be another 15 or 20 min ride extra. That area seems to be struggling a bit.
Youv'e got your job cut out for you,I'm excited for you in your new direction!
May God bless you and your family.
Chas

I have lived here on the farm for 22 years the wife and I have been married for 14 of those years. We have visited all the churches around and there are several and different kinds. Have done that several times each. And all of them have active missinary programs. A couple of them make trips to other countries to build a church each year.
But we have never had a visit from any of these churches, never a invite from anyone at the churches. When we visit they are freindly, happy to see us all that but never a visit or anyone that even makes a phone call to invite us back.
Seems most need to do a little work in their own neighbor hood. They are loosing members as they die off but no one cares about the new people that move in to the area.
I have major health problems and know I will probably leave a widow that the local churches will never contact. Before we married in another state she was a very active church member and worked in her church and even after 14 years we are contacted by her previous church almost every month. There is four churches with in a mile of our house. We don't need more churches we just need some with a little Christian we care.
Sorry for the rant but its just my opinion.
A few things shadow... first off one should not pick a church just because its close or "convienient" . You need one that is a bible believin and teachin one, if your wifes church is one and within an hours drive ya should likely go there. Ya also need to plant yourself in a church. You said you have been there and they are friendly... if God leads you to go to one then YOU go there and YOU contribute and make friends AND SERVE, YOU as a congregation member have as much responsibility for YOUR fitting in and reaching out as the church does. A church is a place to plant yourself and grow. when ya first plant yourself you will not have grown to where you have what ya are lookin for immediately.

So instead of blaming the churches around you for your dissatisfaction YOU might want to hook up somewhere. YOU can even see if YOU can implement the programs you yourself feel are lacking. 22 years is a long time to blame others for what you believe ya are not getting...

Its like the old saying... If ya want a friend- be friendly .... YOU need to do your part...

try it ya might like it.
