At one time dog/monkey fights were very popular. The monkey would win many times and this was against a conditioned fighting dog.
which is why me and kids went to neighbors, and graciously let him go in and check arround for it

In reply to Fantasymakers question, I am assuming on my knowledge, albeit only as the purchaser and seller of numerous pieces of property over the years, that when I piece of land is sold that is fenced by either that owner or a previous owner, then the fence does indeed belong to that piece of property. My neighbor's place was fenced before I even moved to my property and subsequently fenced my own property, ergo it's his fence as it was extant on his property when he bought it, and my property was unfenced when I bought mine. That's why I only put up three fences.

Not sure about laws in Texas regarding a landowner being required to maintain his fences. I've seen some pretty darn shabby ones around the state, and not just my neighbors. I've even seen cattle on the loose from where people's bob wire fences would fall down or be in poor repair and the cows would just push it down. My fences look pretty good, it's just the neighbor's that looks awful and his goats pounce against it all the time. But as I said, it's his fence, and he can fix it.
