I do "low tech" recycling...
I found a plastic body of a WalMart shopping cart (evidently someone wanted to use the metal for an engine support or something...) and wired it on the OUTSIDE of my Kinder's cattle panels and then use that for their hay. Holds enough for them and I put two old disc blades in the bottom to catch the sifts.
I WISH I knew how to rewire and stuff, but have to resort to simple stuff. I made another hoop house, but found some long, solid pallets to use as the "bottom" of them. Really makes it windproof at the bottom.
I made a milk stand out of an old, small, narrow pallet for the base and used one side of a baby crib for one side. I also have the milk stand high enough I stand to milk. I don't like crouching down to milk...
I used an old, industrial-sized coat rack (the horizontal one with hooks and a shelf) in my tack barn to hang bridles and such.
I love found items...

there' nothin wrong with simple stuff. what ever works, is my motto. the simpler the better. but ya do gotta be impressed with the creative stuff these guys do. way beyond my capacity.
i was left with 4 huge (major concert) size speaker cases, from my bro. they are now the best bunny houses i have, and chicken hospital, (just in case) never underestimate the power of a sawzall.

Pea Sheller
Going to try this--Posting a Pic-----------Here is the pea sheller I made. All the parts used in this project came from a discarded copy machine---Except for the wood and a T strap on the sides. Pea sheller has been stored for two years--so its dusty. I used a stick to show where the pea's would go. As the pea's are being shelled---they fall into a pan below the rollers. Randy

Look Close and you will see a little motor off a kiddie car(like a Big Foot Jeep Etc) that I use on my Solar tracker to follow the sun each day.

I saw a crew taking some guardrail down and I asked them what they did with the used materials and they told me they sell them for scrap. They knew what the lengths and the posts weighed each so I just bought a load at scrap price. I bought the metal corrugated roof off a large building by asking the contractor what he was going to do with the material. Seems the 3 month old building was leaking and the insurance company was paying to have it replaced. The only problem was the original install left the caulking off the seams on a too flat roof. The tractor in the pic had a nearly new frontend loader but the the tractor was traded in due to perceived mechanical problems. Rather than fix the tractor the dealer sold me the whole outfit for the price of a used frontend loader. Just ask around and prepare to haggle, you can fill up the farm with stuff.

Another Recycle project
I seen some logs laying beside the road that the power company had cut to put up a new power line----These tree's would have layed there and rotted---I call the land owner and got permission to get them for free and I recycled them trees into boards and built this with part of them-----Yea I had to buy the tin, but its a nice building for the cost of the tin. I built it by myself. Randy

that explains it. you get around more then i do. and i just don't have the guts and stop and ask. my people skills don't go there.
on a brave day, stopped a truck at the recycling center, that was packed with a deck (many boards). that became my back fence.
also i live in a "once" rural area, that is becoming condoville. here they "keep" everything and drag the leftovers to the next construction project.
thanx for the info

My building is no where close to electric lines so, I put the solar panels on it to get a little light at night and some electric to do run a saw or drill. I think I better stop for now------Some people might be tired of my recycle projects. Randy
