Turn it sideways and take out some of the slats, and make a chair.

I used to put hardware wire around them and raise baby guineas in them. They work for baby chickens too. They lasted a few years, but all of mine have rotted and now been hauled off to the green boxes.

When we bought our first house, we had no money for furniture. We had a large dining area and it was killing me not to have it fixed up. We used a spool for the table. I found an inexpensive suitable king size spread, and made a circled table cloth. We found some unfinished chairs for, I think it was $5 a each, and bought eight of them. When it was all finished with a pretty center piece, it made a very pretty dining room. Lots of things can be used when money is tight and we put our thinking caps on.

I'd turn it on it's side and make a teeter totter for the kids with a long plank-- just make sure to put something there so it doesn't roll. Spent a great deal of time playing on spool teeter totters when growing up... I have one now that I took a slat out of and my ducks use it for a shelter... I just put a board over the top to keep the rain out of the hole.

That brings back memories. My first kitchen table was a spool. Complete with 2 outdoor webbed folding chairs. Went well with my coleman stove and popcorn popper bottom for all my cooking needs.

I wouldn't mind finding one of the smaller spools. I think it would make a good hose reel where I work. Three hoses (minimum, attached to each other) is quite a bit to wind up all the time!

I use to work at a bar that used them as bar tables. They were on a wooden stand to put them up bar stool high, covered with plywood (to cover the hole)and then stapled oil cloth covers on them. Worked great and with them being on the stand you had a place to put your feet. Yes, it was a redneck family bar.

Saw a picture in a mag of headboards for twin beds made from top and bottom of a large spool.
