NOT SEVERE weather here......just LOUSY weather! Sandy, dusty really windy yesterday. Snowed about 1 inch last night..cold. Then it snowed and sleeted all day today with cold wind.

I have work to do outside,,,, but I DO NOT anymore work in cold weather outside!

It is supposed to get much better by Friday sometime.

HATE the cold.....but CAN"T stand the HEAT....like in Phoenix AZ. (Hate the traffic too!) I don't know why my contemporaries sell their homes here in NW New Mexico and move to Phoenix! (Dementia and/or Senility I suppose...)

Wait 10 minutes here...the weather WILL CHANGE!

no severe weather here...just lousy,
Bruce

Very windy here in eastern SD. My in laws are in a tornado watch in north central NE. Two sighted an hour west of them today.

donsgal 03/28/07 11:21 PM

YOW those storms look mighty scary. I sure hope they peter out some by the time they reach SW MO. Vibes of safety and protection sent to folks in the line of fire.

edited to add: there are tornado watches all over the Oklahoma and Texas pandhandles. yikes.

Serena 03/29/07 08:32 AM

LOts of rain and even more hail here in the Lubbock Texas area. Looked like it had snowed for a bit. Probably beat every darn apricot an peach off my trees gosh dang it. It was going to be a massive crop of fruit. Tornadoes on the ground in Floyd and Brisco(?) counties east of us a few hours before our storms. We just got wind and hail and rain here.

Snow! Snow! Snow! Most we've had all winter. PLease keep on falling!

Jim S. 03/29/07 09:38 AM

I'LL TAKE IT! Send it over my way, if it has a good downpour of rain with it. We have not had but a piddle of rain here for 8 weeks, following the driest winter in 117 years. I am worried about my hay crop.

My local weather man said a total of 62 tornadoes and 140 reports of hail lastnight in the plains with 3 dead, paula

belladulcinea 03/29/07 05:37 PM

2 people were killed in Oklahoma in a tornado today. My niece is the path of some of the hardest weather going on right now. I'm thinking we will be on the edge this evening but it looks like we will catch it in the morning or overnight.

bugstabber 03/29/07 05:53 PM

Rain today here, and a little thunder.

HomesteadBaker 03/29/07 05:55 PM

We had several tornadoes come through here last night along with a heck of a thunderstorm. The storm(s) lasted almost all night. Several houses were taken in the paths of them, and a barn, and some other buildings. Not sure about injuries/fatalities associated with the storms though.

I'm watching the continuous coveage on the three major networks in Oklahoma City and includes damage from several areas in Oklahoma. And unfortunately, there have been a couple of fatalities. Tornados can kill and no one should take them for granted.

But I can't keep from thinking that if these local weathermen didn't hype up the weather so often and cry wolf everytime a thunderstorm appeared on their million dollar doppler machines, the general public would be more inclined to pay heed to their warnings.

Its actually no worse now than it has been the last 50 years, but with the amount of coverage including live aerial shots from the helocoptors, it appears to be escalating in severity. Its not, but one person losing their life to a tornado is one too many.

tamatik 03/30/07 08:41 AM

ended up 12 inches slop..yuch

FalconDance 03/30/07 02:43 PM

Weatherman in KC keeps yammering about all the torrential rains we're supposed to be watching out for and the flash floods coming to wash us away...... but it's only been really overcast and gloomy most of the week. Rained pretty hard for a few minutes this morning and a bit of a sprinkle yesterday (right after I hung out towels on the line, of course), but otherwise, it seems to be missing us (about 60/65 mi. SE of KCMO).

I had my first tornado "evacuation" yesterday in OKC. While attanding a class the sirens went off and we all went down in the storm cellar. Turns out a tornado touched down not too far from there. I did NOT enjoy that ... give me a hurricane any time.

Of course, here in Terlton we don't have sirens ......

chickenista 03/30/07 03:05 PM

On the news channel I just saw there are tennis ball size hailstones out there blowing around. My thoughts are with anyone in that storm. Hopefully all homesteaders are well. We worry, you know.
