I agree, $900 is cheap, we paid almost $3000 to move our "free" mobile home about 10 miles.

Cool. What ya make?

The State of Tennessee has been very, very tolerant of anything I have ever wanted to do. Trailers do not even need state tags or titles here if they are for farm use. My county has no building inspection or zoning...I literally can do whatever I want with my land.

I have a friend who is an OTR trucker, and he says TN is one of the most truck-friendly states in the U.S.

Now on this shed, if I set it up with the sheriff to haul it on country road or two-lane blacktop, I would have zero problem in my county getting it done myself (provided I could arrange for the equipment...which I easily can from friends). The sheriff likely would even send me out a car to escort me on a slack-traffic time (Murray's a great guy).

If someone wants to DIY cheap, section the building front to back and haul it in 3 pieces on a 16-foot bumper pull trailer. Then reassemble.

The cheap way to do things may cost you more in time and sweat equity, but it can be done. Time = money, and that equation works backwards and forwards.

Cool. You make a bunch of stuff.

Had a bud up in Wis. who made one of those hydraulic pan scrapers to go behind a Cub Cadet. Neat lil deal...wish I had a pic. The guy was a detail nut.

Glad to meet ya.

Hi - I just got a 10x14 and a 10x20 moved - for $600 and a $100 tip as it turned out to be more work for the guys than anticipated [and myself too but nobody tipped me ( ]. It took 3 tries and 2 weeks to find someone to do it for this price who actually showed up as scheduled - but we had 2 buildings, 2 hauls and went about 50 miles oneway. It was a serious pain in the you know what. If I wasn't pushing for time and strapped for $$$ I would have bought new ones as a lot of the 2x4's got cracked and twisted and will take extra time to replace...

You will find someone at a price that works for you if you are patient - and willing to help along yourself. We had been quoted anywhere from 600-1000 for both - and I haggled + negotiated all I was worth! Best bet is someone who sells storage buildings in the first place; second would be car towing flatbed truck. Hang in there - it'll happen... Lmnde

That's because you don't want to pay anyone what the job is worth. I suspect the contractors are picking up on your idea that $900 is too much, and are running the other way. Personally I would charge at least twice that, and if someone called about the job and seemed very concerned about what it would cost, I would quickly decide to work for someone else who wasn't on such a tight budget. Follow the money.
