If you do end up doing this, count me in for a copy as well. I really like this piece of art.

I'm in too Kimon!

BTW, DJ, I think you can bring it to a good printer who has a drum scanner. I would call around and bring the original.

We also had World Books and Childcraft , the whole set. I think my mom started buying them in the early 50's, when my older sis was born. Those were always such great books. Could not have done many a science project without WB and I remember my mom reading me bedtime stories out of the red covered Childcraft. Anybody remember the celo pages of the human body? There were 3 or 4 pages with overlays of the skin down to the bones. I found it all so fascinating. I really miss those books.
I recently saw a set of CC in our local Goodwill store, almost bought it just for the nastalgia (sp?) but figured better since my kids are now 14 & 20. Ended up buying a couple of bags of feed for the critters instead. lol
It's a great poster and yours appears to be in much better condition then the one on Ebay. I hope it continues to bring you many years of peacefull reflection and joy in your "man cave" ie:basement (that's where my DH spends most of his time but his is the garage, hehe.)

We had the books with the cello pages too. I can remember thinking how yucky the inside of a person looked. All those muscles and blood vessels everywhere. LOL

I'd be interested in a copy of the poster too.

I see that poster as an ideal that doesn't exist. I will call it the Disney version. There is money to be made in providing this type of farm for vacationers. The income is mainly from the tourism, not the farm itself. City folks desire this type of farm and I believe are willing to pay to see it.

I will research this.

The old hives were round on top. There was a hairstyle that was named beehive because is resembled the real hives.

Sunday I sent an email to worldbook asking about availability or copyright, and today I called and they said my email was probably forwarded to the "permissions department". I'll let you all know what I come up with, though it might take til next week or so.

We actually have a woman who paints farm pictures in kind of this same style--but they all have Mt Rainier in the backround, as she lives here in Western Wasington and loves the mountain and the old farms that are still scattered here and there with the big barns, old tractors, dairy cows and general farm life of the 40's and 50's---wonderful to look at. I was actually fortunate to pick one up at Goodwill a year or so ago--love posters and pictures like this!

I loved that poster when I was a kid and had a copy given to me by a neighbor. I think it came with Childcraft books. It was also hanging in my first grade class room...this was the early 60's. I wish I had a copy of it now...I'd get it framed and hang it in my bedroom. I can also remember in the Dick and Jane books, they would go to their grandparent's farm to visit. I can also remember being puzzled at their grandparent's farm as it was nothing like my grandparent's farm back in the sticks.
