"Honest officer, I was just feeding the starving turkey vultures.....and they only eat dead things....you wouldn't want me to be cruel to those cute vultures, now would you? And what about their babies?"

Livetraps and subsonic .22 rimfire ammuntion are a wonderful match together along with a flock of 60 plus hungry turkey vultures back for the year.

That's all I'm saying on the matter.

I was always told that you can shoot the neighbor's dog.....just make sure you throw it beside the hi way.

We had a fox killing our chickens. He was on a 2 week cycle. Game warden said he was just making the rounds of neighboring farms. I got a permit. Baited a live trap with a dead chicken. Caught him the next morning. DH shot and buried him. Darn fox got most of my chickens first, though. Got down to just a few and gave those away. Sure miss those eggs, so plan to clean out the coop this weekend and get new chicks in a week or so. DS was going out to feed the rabbits last week and what does he see? A fox eyeing the henhouse. The fox just sat down and took his time looking to see if anything in there was moving. Guess I'll need another permit.

A long way in the wrong direction.

I agree totally, BUT in the mean time ....SHHHHHHHH ...same thing's true here when I shoot a stray cat. STRAY being one that's not on a leash and peeing around my house or killing the birds I feed.

Shoot 'em ...bag 'em and dispose of 'em.

.
Why tell the world you killed something that they want to be a burden to everyone else, except them selves ?

If you don't want the fox, stray dog, troublesome bear etc, then shoot them, kill them, and get rid of them.

The only one telling on you is you your self, and you can not trust the public from tell ing on you and causing trouble.

No one will pay for you loss of livestock unless you hve special insurance from some company.

GET A GUN AND US IT ! ! !

It is sad we even have to discuss this in this country. I do and will shoot foxes or other predators that kill my animals, no exceptions. I once asked our game warden what I could legally do about a hawk getting my chickens. He replied they were protected, but he knew what he would do if it were his chickens. Fair enough, a game warden with common sense.

Hunters must possess fox tags prior to
harvesting foxes during this season. There
is no open weapons hunting season in
any other county except where provided
by local laws. (see page 59)

Yup it's true

Hi;
I live in NC too. It's true you could be fined up to $10,000.00 for killing a fox. Bu that is the maximum. I haven't heard of anyone actually being fined that much. A neighbor of mine found an injured squirrel, treated its wound and put it in a cage until it was better. A telephone company employee was checking his phone line and saw the suirrel and called the wildlife people. They ended up having to go to court over it and were fined a few thousand dollars.
What is even worse, the government released dozens of coyote in the Green Swamp and they have moved beyond that area and are hunting livestock, yet if a person kills one and they are found out, they face some pretty substantial fines and possibly jail time.
I hope it goes well for you.
